Depart for Paris, France. Please check your bags from your gateway city to your arrival city. Be sure to attach the provided Gohagan & Company luggage tags for each piece of luggage, including carry-ons.
Arrive at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Proceed through the immigration checkpoint to the baggage claim area and retrieve your luggage. After completing a customs screening, meet a Gohagan & Company representative.
Transfer to Honfleur, and embark the Exploris One. Enjoy dinner on the ship, which departs Honfleur this evening.
The ship arrives in Caen this morning for a day of exploring the sites of one of World War II’s most significant battles, Operation Overlord.
Longues-sur-Mer, Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery. Travel to Longues‑sur‑Mer to see the well-preserved coastal German artillery battery positioned between Omaha and Gold landing beaches and ideally located for the Germans to fight Allied forces coming ashore. On D-Day, Allied ships traded fire with the German 150 mm and 120 mm guns, softening the German pillboxes. On the next day, British infantrymen captured the German fortification. Continue to Omaha Beach, the 6-mile stretch of beach assigned to U.S. troops, followed by Colleville-sur-Mer, where guest lecturer Professor Dwight D. Eisenhower II leads a guided walk through the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.
Lunch will be served at a restaurant during the excursion.

Wake this morning to breakfast on board and another full day of exploring Normandy’s historic D-Day sites.
Visit Pointe du Hoc, where U.S. Army Rangers on D-Day scaled a 100-foot promontory that the German army had fortified with concrete casements and gun pits. Hear how the Rangers captured this critical Nazi stronghold on D-Day. Break for lunch at the Normandy Victory Museum before continuing to the Church of Angoville au Plain, which two U.S. Army medics used to treat both American and German injured soldiers. The church has two stained-glass windows commemorating the medics and the other soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division. Next, visit the Utah Beach Landing Museum for a comprehensive look at the D-Day battle from planning to its execution. Wrap up the day at Sainte-Mère-Église, said to be the first town liberated by Allied troops on D-Day. Learn about the events of that day and see the key landmarks involved.

Delight in the beautiful plants flourishing in a Mediterranean climate zone Tresco Abbey at Tresco Abbey Garden. Though it is just 28 mile off the Cornwall coast, the island’s unique climate make it the ideal location for tropical and subtropical plants, such as succulents, palm trees, king protea and more. During your stroll through the garden, you may also see colorful golden pheasants and red squirrels.

On this emerald-green, teardrop-shaped island, experience an in-depth visit to Iona Abbey, founded in the year 563 and considered the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland. It was the monks of Iona who spread Christian ideas across Scotland and the north. St. Martin's Cross—dated to the eighth century—still stands by the roadside, and a replica of St. John's Cross is found by the doorway of the abbey. (Moderate)
The ship arrives this morning at the village of Kyle of Lochalsh.
Visit Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s iconic fortresses. On a tidal island barely bigger than the castle itself, Eilean Donan sits at the confluence of Loch Alsh, Loch Long and Loch Duich. Cross the stone bridge to the island and admire the picture-perfect view. The original castle, built in the 13th century, lay in ruins after the Jacobite Rising of 1719 until a British army officer with family ties to the castle purchased it in 1911. He reopened it to visitors in 1932 after a yearslong restoration project. (Moderate)

Grandson of General and President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Professor David Eisenhower is a noted historian of World War II and the Cold War. His 1986 bestseller, "Eisenhower: At War 1943–1945," was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in History. Eisenhower received a B.A. in History cum laude from Amherst College. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Naval Reserve as an officer on the USS Albany; shortly afterward, he earned his J.D. cum laude from The George Washington University Law School. Today, Eisenhower is a Public Policy Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches Communication and the Presidency.
