Port calls along the way include Cologne, Koblenz, Rüdesheim and Mannheim for Heidelberg, Germany, and the lovely Alsatian city of Strasbourg, France, a fusion of both French and German cultures.

From Basel, travel overland through the verdant countryside of Switzerland. Stop in the perfectly preserved medieval Old Town of Bern, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and visit the captivating small town of Interlaken surrounded by the crystal clear Thun and Brienz lakes and by the unique Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountain range. Spend two nights in lovely Lucerne, where glorious panoramas surround you during a cruise on Lake Lucerne and cogwheel railway and cable car rides to and from the summit of Mt. Pilatus. Then, cross the mountainous backbone of Switzerland aboard the celebrated Glacier Express. The tour concludes in Zermatt for two nights, where you will marvel at the iconic Matterhorn as you travel aboard the Gornergrat Bahn.
